Clean Water

One of our primary goals is to provide clean water to Congolese school children. In many places throughout Congo, the only water sources are small wells or streams with stagnant, dirty water. Lack of access to clean water has a domino effect on the economic situation of those who consume it. It can lead to a wide array of debilitating and deadly diseases such cholera, diphtheria, dysentery, and ringworm. Those diseases that don’t kill the victim severely weaken them, making them unable to go to work, attend school or care for their families for various periods of time. When you are already desperately poor, this can be devastating.

How We Help

There are a number of different technologies for water purification. They range in complexity and cost from personal filtration straws to a complete water pumping, filtration and storage system that can serve a small community. We are currently striving to install deep wells with electrical pumps and water towers for storage. To learn more about our specific projects, click on the links below.
